neighborhood service
Neighborhood service of 10 hours is a required part of the course. Service should be completed (if appropriate) by Nov. 1st. Follow guides, keep Paul in the loop on all organizational matters, be kind to your host sites and staff. Places that need volunteers are usually really need the help, so they are often overwhelmed with various tasks. Be patient, flexible, and empathetic. They are not there to serve you.

Afterschool homework sessions at 2 locations. This runs Mon-Thurs. Would like us to commit to one day a week through the semester. One hour blocks of time not yet scheduled (will be between 4-6pm)
requires Grand Rapids Public Schools background check.
Starts 2nd or 3rd week in September and runs through Early December. They would like people who could do the whole session because it is disruptive to the students when tutors don't see them through the session.
