BIG RED THINGThe studio was asked by Jennifer Geigel Mikulay from Uniersity of Wisconsin to collaborate on a research project about Calder's "La Grande Vitesse". This is a great project that fits within the scope of the civic studio. Check out the project description on the BIG RED THING page. big red thing is a tentative title. We'll put together a team of 3-5 studio members to work on this project with the support of the whole studio. -paul
I went up Grandville to Sabor Latino to order some food for our reception on Friday at 4pm. We usually don't buy prepared food for receptions, but they swung us a deal on some great finger foods. Maria Pena there was very nice and welcomed us to come there for their quick and cheap lunch deal they are starting. They are making 25 each of the following: Pastelillos Carne, Pastelillos Burro, Pastelillos pollo, Pastelillos vegetable, Rellenos, and Soruyilos. I've paid them already with a check (will need to be processed with an expense report). Someone will need to pick them up at 3:45pm Friday. Sabor Latino, 825 Grandville, Ave. Grand Rapids, MI 247-3560. I also promised that we'd make a sign to put on the table with a picture of their place and their information. I've uploaded the picture to the Sabor Latino page. Would someone design and print this. Indicate that you are doing this on the page. - paul
