Wow its been a month since I wrote on my own page life must be good. I passed my review and I can finally sleep at night!!! I am down at th estudio and looking things over it looks damn good here. The sign looks amazing and the signs, i put together the piecs of the water pump for the regatta. I think we need a Club Boat!!! A real one. Iwish some one had a hydroplain or a cool sailboat!!
Oh yea. Emily and I were here and Jerry and Shelly stopped in to see what was happenign here. Jerry is named after the patron saint of expecting mothers and use to own 3 hydoplaines!!! He showed us pictures of his amazing boat that he made with these amazing exhaust pipes on it. It looked like it could just fly over the water!!!! He doesn't even own a boat anymore. He bellongs to a few Catholic church clubs but had no cards to prove his membership. Claims that he will stop by on Friday to visit we will have to wait and see.
I forgot to document the donator of the row boat to the towne club organization / civic studio his name is oh no I forgot his name tight now this is a visual reminder for me to remember his name.
that is where I am at right now

Wood fire experience changes my perspective of things a bit. I know that every experience changes us in some way or shape but I truly feel as though I have changed after the dedication of my hands and my thought through out the entire process 3-day wood firing. Reaching the temperature of over 3000 degrees was difficult in the cold winter of a snowstorm! The frozen wood and the soaking wet wood did not act the heating process of the kiln. Somehow we did it the cones never fell but by the color it seems as though the fire was mature. It is amazing what can happen when people pull together as a team. It works. I am amazed it happened at all when we closed the kiln up and stopped feeding the firewood; at first I felt that there was something that I forgot to do. Something that still needed to be done. Something. I am not sure what or where but forgotten. I never felt so comfortable working.
It never felt like work the entire time. I just did what needed to be done. Simple. If there was wood to be brought it I helped if there was feeding the fire to be done I helped. I had an opinion at many points a t time and it was valued and brought in to the greater picture. I don’t know it was good it was real it was real good. And the most improtant part documentation did happen!!!

In terms of further research, the literature reviewed suggests the need for a more holistic approach to nature in the city - one that treats social, environmental and economic considerations as a whole.

  • Brain Drain-
Thinking about the constructs and configurations of stuff overwhelms me. I ride through the cities and notice the things I use to pass by and today I awe at he beauty of these things. Realizing my appreciation of the configuration of material goods. Vision has enabled me to function within society. Dreaming of the multiple cultures of the world and the diversity that surrounds me. We here in Michigan there are little reminders of diverse nations scattered amongst our construct. Recalling the miscellaneous places I have been and the different things I have seen and remember that all is Ok. It is all right if I don’t understand the algebra formula. It does not make me lesser of a human being. I am gong to be all right. I refuse to fail. I refuse to crumble to the construct of the blueprint they try to configure my brain organization to. I am just who I am and I will do all I can to satisfy mind but, I always do not have to be what others expect me to be. It just gets really frustrating when the whole room seems to understand the protocol and I try to rationalize this set of rules and don’t see it. 03/01/05
I have been looking at some public artist and I came across this guy named Alfredo Jaar. Jaar has done some amazing projects such as this public art piece that was in a public park. Where his instillation was to install various easels. This project was a blank slate and the people could do with it what ever they wanted. Jaar loved this piece because it was always in flux the public responded to it wonderfully from painting on graffiti to 2 year old drawings were put on display. This could be something that we could do for the space is bring down easels and have them for people to play with. We could even use them!! I know that this may be imposing the institution on to the public and that is not what we are here to do, but I thought it was a cool piece of public art that I could share with you. Another piece that he did which was absolutely amazing was creating an actual museum out of paper. This was a temporary museum which artist showed their work, but when the project was finished he burned the entire place down to the ground. FUN he always wanted to burn a museum, so he did it. He wanted the image of the burning museum to stick in their memory until the real thing existed in their town. Jaar designed a part for the city as payment for burning the museum.
