- Derive' I'm designing a studio exercie that will involve walking in the neighborhood. For this be prepared with some drawing utensils and dress for walking for an hour or so in whatever weather we have that day. The Derive' is a method developed in the 'situationist internationale. When I was reading Stilgoe's "Outside Lies Magic" I kept thinking that he was on a Derive'. You can read about it here: http://www.bopsecrets.org/SI/2.derive.htm.
