Completing this assessment is a requirement of the course. You may complete it at any time before midnight on Sunday, May 1st. There are multiple purposes for these reports: 1. A written account is a way of making a learning product that can document what one has done experientially and intellectually. 2. Recounting and reflecting about what one has done often contributes to the depth of learning and the transferability of that which was learned. This goes for reading others' reports as well. 3. We may not know about some of what you have done and this is a formal opportunity to let to others know. 4. I'll read these before assessing your performance in the course and assigning a course grade. What to do: Follow your assessment link and post a report on the page that responds to the 4 items below (A-D). Think through what you write and give it some consideration and depth. Be quantitative and comprehensive in describing what was done. Be specific. Also offer some qualitative assessment of the impact and significance of your contributions. A substantial report can enhance your overall assessment. An unfinished or casual effort can diminish your overall assessment. The first 3 items (A-C) document all of your contributions to the workings and production of the studio and its activities. Item D is the place to reflect on the overall experience of the project. Try to cover all that is asked in the 4 items, but don't be constrained by just what is asked. If there are other relevant things to report, this is the place. A. Studio, Projects, Discussion, Learning B. Neighborhood community service C. Contributions to the organization and production of the studio D. What new understandings have you gained in this experience? Please post your report any time before midnight on Sunday, May 1st, If the swiki should be down when you wish to post your Assessment, email it to me and I'll post it when the swiki is back up. We are all busy now with the big finish. After the semester is over I'm very interested in any subsequent thoughts you may have regarding how the project might be more effective. Please continue your consideration and correspondence. I look forward to reading your assessments. Paul 4/21/05 |
