Chris Ware
Chris Ware is a Nebrakian native, born in 1967. When Chris turned 16 he moved to San Antonio Texas and began to attened the University of Texas. In his Sophomore year he began publishing a weekly strip in the local paper and was soon contacted by Art Speigelman. In the early 90's Chris moved to Chicago and and bega publishing his acclaimed strip, The Acme Novelty Library. From this initial strip emerged the graphic novel "jimmy Corrigan - the Smartest Kid on Earth". This recieved the Guardian First Book Award in 2001, the American Book Award in 2000 and the prestigioys French comics award "L'Alph Art" in 2003.
Chris's work has also appeared in many national and internation exhibits, notably the Whitney Art Museum of New York in 2002. He currently publishes Acme Novelty library every week in Chicago where he lives with his wife Marnie.
