As I mentioned in class, I loved Abelardo Morell's Camera Obscura images. When I intially viewed them I almost dismissed them and walked out of the exhibit.
Being a black and white photographer, I was uncomfortable with the image being upside down, as well as the merging of two images (the room and the view from outside).
For some reason I stayed and looked at length at the photos. As I became accustomed to the inverted images, I was engrossed by how the image flowed over the
objects in the room.

I think the images initially made me uncomfortable because I had never seen anything like these photographs (and believe me I have seen tons of photos, as I am a photography addict).
As we are often fearful or at least uncomfortable with the unknown, it would have been easier for me to dismiss them and move onto images that I am more accustomed to viewing. I am glad
I stayed long enough to overcome my initial reaction and fully experience the beauty of his photography.

Both the image of the room and the inverted image were crisply detailed with great tonality. I found myself getting excited and scurried to the next photo and the next...Some images worked
better than others. The images of the rooms with the beach scenes didn't seem to convey the information as well as the images of buildings. However, this reaction from me could simply be
explained by the fact that I love architecture...I found his website:http://www.abelardomorell.net/camera_obscura1.html Take a look. Enjoy!
