Unfortunately my experience of Bruce Mau was horrible. I couldn't make it to the 2:00pm student panel but I did show up for the 5:00pm occasion but my experience sucked. I got there early but I was already reverted to the overflow section. I said fine to myself and sat down. It filled up so much that they had to put a row of chairs on the side of the isles. Eventually they got the video to work and the program started but the sound didn't work. Sooner than later a lady asked someone to ask Bruce to stop his presentation for a couple of minutes until they figured the problem out. All of us thinking that he of all persons would understand and comply but no one took initiative to do so. Fifteen minutes later the sound worked but you could barly hear it. Then they turned the lights off. Okay, set the mood. Well, unfortunately I have a hard time retaining knowledge so I have to write notes. Meanwhile I am in the middle of a battle with a cold and I had already been exposed to multiple glares and finally someone asked me to control my coughing. Tough thing to ask. Eventually, about 30 minutes in to the program I gave up, waved my white flag and hoped that Paul would understand and tell me of another event that I could go to...
