Takashi Murakami was born 1962, Tokyo, Japan. He attended the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music where he received his BFA, MFA, and PhD. He has resently had solo shows in galleries from Paris to New York to Tokyo. From what I understand Murakami is trying to become a POP Artist. He has created a land of unique characters and ideas which are what I consider to be his version of "Walt Diseny Land". His fame and fortune has not yet come but each day brings new hope.
