Bonded
one zipper

This look a like wedding dress is made completely out of one zipper. This dress is the third in the White Dress Series. Trained and Tied are the first two in the series. These pieces approach and explore the idea of females captivity in a modern society. The unzipping of the zipper is representation of the virgin on her wedding night, but also of the limitations and bondage of marriage.

"My pieces are kind of experimental; I like creating my own fabrics. When I make my dresses, I try to find materials that excite me and challenge me to make them into a dress. I think it’s interesting that I take these objects that have these “hard” connotations and soften them up, change how you might view them." ~Cat Chow
