Many issues that get overlooked, Sue Coe is one who trys to inform the public about those issues through her on art. She is very interested in influencing individuals to get involved in world issues. Her illustrations are known to be graphically honest and cut throat to make sure the viewers attention is grabbed and they understand the issue is not to be taken lightly.
She was born in Tamsworth, Straffordshire, England. She studied at London's Royal college of art (http://www.rca.ac.uk/). From there she moved to New York, she was always interested in political world issues. Not wasting anytime went right into illustrating for magazines and major news papers such as the New York Times. Many issues that she has expressed are animals rights, the meat industry, AIDS Crisis, Racism, rape, womens rights, ku klux klan and many more issues. She expressed that many companies were taking the disease to lightly. That the disease's horrifying effects on the animals could transfer to humans.
