id pages
At the beginning of the course everyone will create an id page. This page (like a home, or web page) will be your central space. This will be a spot for you to link writings and online versions of projects. For this you'll need to have an area for class-specific stuff at the top.In addition, you can start a blog and put it on another page or "inline" it into this page. You can also put links, writings, or images on the page as you like. For starters you can "head" your page with a banner image at the top in the header position (like the one on the home page). This lets folks visually know when they've reached your space.
Making your id page
Find your cps group roster page in the Index area. Go to that page and find your name. Edit the page and make your name a link by putting asteriks on either side (see help section for all of your swiki syntax).
Anytime you are making new pages remember that the whole coweb only has one list of pages. So make yours unique. If you think others would have reason to make a page with the same name (like when we all do the same assigned page), then include your initials with it or something to make it a different name. Otherwise you'll think you've linked to your page and it will be someone elses.
Later in the course we may do html web pages. Doing them on the wiki is a good lowtech intro.
