THE BREADCRUMB PROJECT
A sequential experience has the potential to inhabit a large field of space. This project in an exercise in engaging that extended space.
- Take a walk in the woods that surround the Calder Art Center
- Consider the experience of your walking
- Find/determine/construct a path you would like someone to follow
- Develop a plan to mark this path:
consider whether this marking will happen in a way that appears invasive,
or in a way that attempts to blend in with its surroundings
- Create a map in an edition of fifteen that invites people to see the work, as well as acts as documentation for the piece. It should include images of the work (color, minimum 3) an indication of the route, and text (300-500 words) that describes the significance of the work
- secure permissions for any projects that involve possible harm to the woods (for example digging, cutting/ drilling into trees, etc.)
