Le Corbusier Group 5

Our group reviewed the land located across from the Civic Studio and the Rapid Bus Station. We felt as though this site needed to be filled with natural landscape...therefore we decided a park would be the perfect fit for this land. Not only would a park be a good development but we also felt that a parking garage would be necessary for the Rapid station, the park and for the local apartments and businesses as well. Our group did not have a camera with us so we drew out our plans, you will find those plans below. We wanted the park to be well lit and surrounded by trees so that it did not feel as though you were in a park surrounded by a big city. Instead, the trees seperate the park from the rest of the city and make the surroundings a lot more comfortable. For the lighting, we wanted them to match the lighting that is used at the Rapid station, an old style if you will. The parking structure should also match that of the surrounding buildings, the old brick style with more of a plain yet exciting feel to it. We also thought that this style of building brings about a more residential feel for those that would be thinking of living in the area. It makes the area feel more welcoming instead of the concrete warehouse-type bulidings that are currently there.
