Word-word
The words I used were “steam” and “slave.” Steam makes me think about in every cosmopolitan magazine, almost every page says something about “steamy sex.” So when you add the word slave, it leads my mind to rape. I also think it could take you somewhere non- sexual like a kitchen servant.Image-Word:
I used the image of eggs and a beater, with the word, “wife” with the intention of two different themes. The first connecting the word and the image of the beater to be “ wife beater.” The other could be connected to the stereotype of women being the one who makes dinner, and “belongs in the kitchen.”Image-Image:
The two images I used for this were lips, and money. These images could bring you to a variety of thoughts. My mind first goes to prostitution, but others have said Las Vegas, Plastic Surgery, the medias idea of glamour. These images interact nicely, and look as if the money is going into the mouth of the lips.Changes
The way images interact can totally change the message. For example if I put the image of the eggs and beater with the word "chicken" ot would not take you to the same place that the word " wife" does.
