Jessian's explanations:
So here's a look inside my brain...
Word-Word:
Ate & drape; when you look at these words separately, they have no connection. But when you say the words out loud together, your brain very easily moves to 'date rape.' Date rape is a horrifyingly common occurrence that is often hushed because of all of the negative feelings, emotions, etc. that are associated with it. In the same way that people try to ignore date rape or are ashamed if they are a victim, the words 'ate' or 'drape' don't evoke any emotions until you are aware of their significance together.

Image-Image:
These images deal with the binding expectations of sexuality in America. The men in this picture are duc-taped to a pole; similarily, guys are often empowered or emasculated by the size of their little man (sorry, all the other words seemed too gross or crude...so I opted for little man...). Also, men are expected to be the strongest partner and are always competing with other men, similar to this picture. From a woman's point of view, we are idolized as very sexual objects and taught what is sexy, beautiful, hot...we're chained to these expectations of who we should be. But it's a subtle chain, since we've been spoon fed what 'sexy' looks like since we were little girls. Most women don't even realize that it's there. In both aspects, whether from a mans view or a woman's view, our sexuality is exploited.

Image-Word:
Pairing the word 'tunnel' with a set of glittery, slightly open lips is a subtle reference to sex or oral sex. Separately, these are not sexual. Although the glitter on the lips has a mesmerizing quality, the picture itself is more about the piercings than anything else. And the word 'tunnel' doesn't have sexual implications until you associate it with the lips. The darkness of the area between the lips matches beautifully with 'tunnel' and you start to think of the lips as an opening. Also, the implication of 'lips' takes the sexual innuendo further than just oral sex.
