McQueen was born in 1969, he studied in the institutions of, Chelsea School of Art, Goldsmith's College in London,where he created his first films, and Tisch School of the Arts in New York.
Many of his exhibits have been in Europe and South America, but a few have taken place in the United States
His first big film was Bear in 1993, next was Deadpan in 1997, Drumroll in 1998, Exodus 1992-97, and Prey in 1999
In 1999, he won Britain's best-known art award, the Turner Prize, for his film Drumroll.-(2)

aesthetic
Originally starting out as just a film producer he has recently produced works of sculpture and photography. Earlier works are created from the constructive forms of film making, black and white imagery and artistic movie tradition.-(4) They also provided with no sound, which could have added of taken away from the originals depending on how he portrayed them. He has ventured out of his comfort zone to now include color and sound in his films. They have usually left people questioning with or without the color and sound.-(2)

Deadpan- McQueen alone standing in a room, whose walls are falling down around him-(3)
Drumroll- three cameras are placed within a drum barrel and rolled along the streets of New York City-(4)
Exodus and Prey

This installation in called
!Queen and Country
made from the faces of dead U.K. soldiers who fought in Iraq
McQueen created this installation as a tribute to those fighting the war in Iraq
