Compiled/organized list
Lab Tech
- Michelle's List: CS 2 suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) and new version of Fontographer for 1310 lab. Scanner for Graphic Design classroom cluster.
- Iview upgrad labs. The 50 copies in the lab are still at 1.5, I think. - paul
Studio/Classroom Tech
- for CAC 1415 a cordless microphone as the venting system is very loud
- less of a priority for 1311 a computer permanently installed with a cordless mouse
- (I duplicated this item here and in Faculty/Staff Tech-pw)As for hardware...it would be good to get a decent computer in prints as it is now a daily use item...I also need a faster computer,(tower type), as I have been working with more and larger images .(and, it has no way to connect to the net, no modem, no airport) My current G4 would work well in printmaking and so request a new G5 computer. No need for additional software or monitor for myself. If my current computer goes into printmaking it will need a monitor and may need software if there is no way to put my current software on both computers. -Dellas
- We also need the RIP for the digital lab. -Dellas
- G4 & Printer: Ceramics Glaze Calculation Room (There is a MAC, I don't even know how old it is.) - Hoon
- G4 & Printer: Ceramics Library (Next to Dan's office. Currently we have one PC & one G3.) - Hoon (may already be upgraded to g4 -pw)
- Ed's list: I need to keep up with Photoshop, Dreamweaver, flash, illustrator/freehand and whatever layout program is being used in graphics for my laptop. Any upgrades in hardware and software possible for the computers, printers and scanners in the illustration studio. (this should happen from IT as they upgrade labs. They tend to put in older hardware-pw)
- Norwood's List: I would like three new G5 towers to set up a 3D computer modeling lab in the sculpture classroom. Currently we are running Form Z in 1310, but are unable to access the lab during most Sculpture class times.
- 1718: Software upgrades for 4 computers in 1718: I think illustrator is the main thing we need: and anything that should be done with the macromedia/adobe purchase. osx 4 if they do that in the labs.
- Civic Studio: If any of the mac labs get new machines I could use a older g4 for civic studio to replace our old 9600. We should put in a block request for these g4s. Also, any portables that get put out of service we could put to use in the civic studio: ibooks/ powerbooks. . . . -paul
Faculty/Staff Tech

- I would make use of the latest version of Dreamweaver in Senior Seminar. Other than that...? Brett
- I would like IView and and updated version of Photoshop for my ibook. -Beverly
- Video Editing Program for my computer. - Hoon
- Software packages for dept. machines. There might be a possibility of joining in with IT on some batch software packages. We should discuss this with Matt. -paul
- I'm thinking I am past my 3 year computer time and am interested in a new macbook pro. Not sure how these work. Do I put in a request to someone? -Paul
- Iview Upgrade 25 pack. Iview has been upgraded to version 3. Ed has done some research into it's new functions. If not now, we should have this in mind for the future. Not sure how much an upgraded license is. -paul
Other stuff
- We should coordinate a block request for g4's as they get recycled out of the labs.
- What is the process for faculty tech being upgraded? How do we insure that we're on schedule with IT on this.
- If color printing continues to be a problem for IT, we might look to the future of buying departmental color printers and restricting them to use only by faculty student machine ID. I think this could be done for non-lab machines with the apple print controller. The labs and wireless are a bit of a different story.
- Wireless printing story/status.
