Also, I made this grouping of links for my/our students this semester:

1. Lora Fosberg is the Chicago-based artist in UICA's Race Street Gallery right now. I invited her to come back up to give an evening talk (at the gallery) for my drawing students and whoever else will show up.
She took this idea and ran with it. I'll forward her e-announcement to you. Her talk will be Thursday, Jan. 10, 7pm.

2. The UICA is showing the film "My Kid Could Paint That" from January 4-9. This looks like a great documentary that raises really problematic issues about abstract painting, the art world, etc.

3. Karen Kunc is the printmaker from Nebraska that Henry, David Keister and Dellas are hosting this January. She will come make a print at GV between the 20th - 25th. She's a great lady, working with traditional Japanese woodblock methods. She'll also give a lecture, I'm sure, but I don't know exactly when.

4. VAC lecturer BEAUVAIS LYONS has a website up and running for his ongoing project (ala David Wilson's Museum of Jurassic Technology) - The Hokes Archive. His talk happens on February 5th, Tuesday, at 7:30pm, UICA.

5. VAC lecturer CHIP KIDD has a good homepage of his own, featuring his new book, The Learners, which I'm sure will be the primary topic of his March 18th lecture (Tuesday), in the Louis Armstrong Theatre, 7:30pm.

6. VAC lecturer JOE SACCO doesn't have a homepage, but his publisher (Fantagraphics) has a page devoted to his works. His lecture is March 26th, Wednesday, at 7:30pm, UICA.
