Kara Walker
She was born in 1969 in Stockton, California.

She decided to become an artist because her father was an artist.
She got her BFA from the Atlanta College of Art in 1991.
She got her MFA in 1994 from the Rhode Island School of Design.
Kara was included in the Biennial exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American art in 1997.
Later in 1997 when she was only 27 she became the youngest recipient of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation's "genius" grant.
