Setting Up Printing for PC
This tutorial is for Windows XP, it should be similar for other versions, if you have trouble you can try looking up directions for your version on Google.
1. On the start menu click "Control Panel".
2. Click on "Printers and Other Hardware".
3. Click "Add a printer".
4. A window will pop up, click "Next".
5. Select "Local printer attached to this computer" and uncheck "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer".
6. Click "Next".
7. Select "Create a new port" and scroll down and select "Standard TCP/IP Port".
8. Click "Next".
9. Another window will pop-up, make sure the printer is turned on and you are connected to the GVSTUDENT network.
10. Click "Next".
11. In the "Printer Name or IP Address" box type "148.61.32.231" (for the printer in 1715 use 148.61.32.233) and then click "Next".
12. A window will pop, where it says "Device Type" select "Standard" and scroll down and select "Hewlett Packard Jet Direct".
13. Click "Next".
14. A window will pop-up, click "Finish".
15. In the next window under "Manufacturer" scroll down and select "HP".
16. In the same window under "Printers" scroll down and select "HP LaserJet 5".
17. Click "Next".
18. In the new window select "Keep existing Driver(recommended)".
19. Click "Next".
20. In the "Printer Name" box type a name that helps you tell what printer it is and then select "No" under "Do you want to use this printer as the default printer?"
21. Click "Next".
22. In the next window select "Share name" and in the box type "HP LaserJet 5200".
23. In the next window you can type the location and any comments if you want, or just click "Next".
24. Select "Yes" to print a test page and as long as it prints you should be all set.
